WHY
A SEMINAR ON WORSHIP?
Jesus declares in John 4:23 that the Father is seeking true
worshippers to worship in spirit and in truth. Since many
of us have never been taught biblical worship, an insatiable
hunger looms over us for an encounter with God. This urgent
need is even reflected in the Barna Research Group's 1999
nationwide random survey of 1,005 adults. The results showed
an alarming shortage of true worshippers in the body of Christ.
One half of the respondents said they had not experienced
God's presence at all in the past year.
PURPOSE:
The True Worship Seminar is designed to teach true biblical
worship and the preparation necessary to access the presence
of God. The Seminar has three objectives:
- To
teach the biblical pattern for true worship.
"And
they shall teach my people the difference between the holy
and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean
and the clean."
Ex. 44:23.
-
To lead participants into personal preparation for worship.
"If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray and seek my face, and turn..." 1Chron.7:14
- To
engage in a practical exercise of true worship.
"O come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel
before the Lord our maker. For he is our God;" Ps.
95:6,7a
